  • Listing items for sale.. Is it time to give something back to the forum?

Ok, to cut a long story short, i got a couple of ads deleted because i had 3 live ads already.
Now i looked back into 3 pages of the sales section looikng for my name and there were a lot od "dead" listings ie i hadnt bumped in months as they had sold elsewhere etc.
I deleted and got another wanted ad taken off again.
It got me thinking and i want to run it past you.
Forums cost money to run as we all know and i am sure there are all kinds of legal do,s and don'ts.
A lot of save money by listing here instead of ebay and have the added bonus of being able to sell cheaper to guys n gals we feel closer too.

Why do we not introduce a voluntary system where you can make a contribution to the forum when you sell an item.
It could be 10p to whatever you want. We know it goes straight to keeping the forum up and running and may even be able to fund other things like donations to air ambulances etc. That side could be left to the mods to do.

I know legally it would not be enforceable. but if there was a donate button as a sticky to all selling posts and i sold something, i would be more than happy to hit the contribute button that only needs to be a link to a paypal account or something.
Just a thought as there are few sellers that would have made more on ebay and it would be entirely voluntary.
A voluntary contribution is all i am suggesting 10p to whatever you wish

I cannot see any reason to object.

    What is your thoughts guys?

The idea is good but its just how to go about doing it on a forum based sales page.. I use the for sale section and in return i signed up to the "site sponser" scheme which i feel is fair to both sides

i just thought that an optional contribute button was plausible...

I am sure any funds raised would be used just as wisely as the adverts.
