ESC wont arm with Vbar

Got a stock Oxy 3 which comes with a Hobbywing 40a ESC, I’ve setup the vbar and ESC end points. If I plug in a lipo the ESC beeps to confirm power supplied and vbar initialises but ESC does not arm. The only way I can get the ESC to arm is if I disconnect and reconnect the lipo within a second.

I’ve never had had a Hobbywing ESC before, is it a ESC setting or something else causing this?

FYI – once armed everything works and flies fine. I’m using the ESC gov and not vbar..

Any suggestions on cause?

1 Have you setup the transmitter menu in the vstabi software.

2 have you set fail safe

I've done both. I did it as I always do for new models, setup vbar transmitter and failsafe first then ESC end points.

Should I reset failsafe after ESC end points are set?

Seems strange that it only arms after I quickly disconnect and reconnect. This suggests the vbar still has enough power while I reconnect for the ESC to detect low throttle and arms. Don't think the ESC likes the vbar initialisation and ESC arming to happen at the same time??

Try reprogramming the yep and make sure it's done with a linear throttle. It sounds like it's not seeing zero throttle and won't arm ?

Im using that exact same combination on my Chase 360 (mini vbar + HW V3 40A) and it works perfectly, so it's certainly not an inherent problem with the hardware.

Only thing I can suggest is to re calibrate the ESC throttle range. The procedure is in the manual but note that timing is critical, you have to close the throttle as soon as you get the double beep.

Just took it out and first 2 lipos armed with no issue, 3rd lipo I had to reconnect quickly to arm.

I'll reset the end points and see how it goes. Just seems a bit random

The only non-default setting I have is that I set the LiPo cells to the battery I use (6s in my case) rather than the default 'Auto Calculate'. You could try the same thing if you continue to have trouble (3s for the oxy?).

I have a very similar scenario (OXY3, HW 40, K-bar) and occasionally my ESC doesn't arm - but for me it is always on the first battery of the day. I simply unplug and re-connect the battery and it arms every time.

If you get an answer let me know - only a minor inconvenience for me .

BTW.... have you updated the firmware on the ESC to the latest version?

So I reset the ESC end points but still same issue.

Didn't know there was a update available, will have to look into it.
