  • neXt flight sim thoughts?

    Hi mates,

I am thinking to get a new sim. I have Phoenix and it's very easy to fly helis in 3D compared to real flying.

How neXt sim flies? Is it worth the purchase over Phoenix?

    Cheers

Its ok, has more up to date helis compared to pheonix in my opinion.

I found it easier to fly inverted compared to pheonix.

It's a nice sim but pheonix does have more options.

For purely flying so forget about landing target etc, I prefer Next over pheonix and AccuRC.

Im still tempted with this , I did like the AccuRC but to many updates and I needed a better computer to handle the graphics. Im a MAC user so I might try neXt at some point .

Works nice on a 27" iMac, super smooth graphics and loads instantly. I haven't used Phoenix, but can compare it to Heli X and Aerofly RC7 on Mac. neXt beats both of those hands down, nicer graphics, better sound and feels very realistic and dynamic. The only odd quirk it seems to have is on landing, especially with smaller models - they have an unrealistic tendency to tip over. But not really a big problem, just teaches you to be extra careful on landings!

Works really well on. My iMac 21 inch, Aaron loves it on there and you get two licenses, so I put it on his windows lap top as well. I paid the extra and got a cd for this reason, you still download the software, but they post you a cd as well.

I use the Sim a lot more now I am using Next running native on the Mac, never could be bothered running bootcamp or VMware to run Phoenix.

I think someone has said this before, but all the models fly very similar to a VBar fbl, so if you use Vbar its another bonus.

Loads up so quick and easy on Mac it's great. My RF7.5 sits unused because I can't be bothered to re-boot.
Wish I could have a Gaui X7 model for it

                  Definitely worth a purchase.

You could download Next and try it I believe they have a free demo mode which is limited to 2 minutes and it works with the transmitter

I tried it myself at Midlands helicopters. Not a bad SIM at all and works on Mac. The price is cheap too :-)

If you try the diablo 700 heli it is very good at trying autos. Of course you can change the set up in any of the helis to make them auto a little better. Great fun.

I'm using Next now. I initially got it because Phoenix didn't support the vControl TX, but I find Next to be a bit more realistic than Phoenix, and being MAC native is much better.
