That's correct. As standard the servos are fitted with a thin plastic plate and a washer on top. The servo tabs are very thin and are easily broken in a crash or over tightening of the bolts.

If any of the equipment wasn't working properly then he would have seen that when he went thru the pre flight checks as recommended by the BMFA and he should have notified you straight away. If he tried to fly it without doing the checks as recommended by the very organisation who run the website that he brought it from then any problems after that are down to him.

Surely the BMFA would be interested in this No ?, To be a BMFA Classifieds member you need to be a paid up BMFA member - as what he is attempting to pull amounts to Fraud surely the BMFA have a vested interest to also investigate the case given the issues in the past with classifieds?.

Get them in all walks of life Pete, i have had idiots on BMFA and RCHA i'm affraid to say. I have seen it time and time again in posts that feed this behavior that people have said to simply put in a paypal dispute, all this does is feed these idiots and the behavior to be normal. The only way to cover yourself as the seller is to document whatever your selling with evidence like photos and a video if necessary, the more the better so that if a paypal dispute comes up you have the ammunition to counter it.

Paypal's marketing is buyer protection and if used correctly it is great considering it was founded by ebay and knowing that garbage that gets sold on ebay it is the right setup but what about seller protection??????? Paypal never mention anything about seller protection.
          Happy Flying! Thanks - Dave

Exactly, if he found faults when the heli was received why didn't he report them then rather than going and flying it and only telling you after crashing it? It makes no sense at all.

I think in reality his boy crashed it and he's found damage which he for some reason thinks might have been pre-existing. By the sound of it what he found is in fact perfectly normal for the heli in question (the washers) but either way, coming back to you asking for refund after it's been crashed is out of order. His opportunity to find pre-existing faults was before he flown and crashed it. If he didn't check it thoroughly that's his problem, any damage found after he crashed it is his responsibility.

              Thanks guys.

Yes I know about the washers and rubber/plastic spacer used to hold the servos in, it was the 'special washers' comment that confused me. The manual is in the box and it shows washers in the exploded diagram.

Well over night it would appear he chose to be abusive. I had a blank email but shortly before that this. Exact wording other than censoring.

              Now who's being a funny c*nt your a c*nt and a con artist now f**k off
I'm not one to name and shame however if BARRY ASLING ever contacted me again wishing to buy something from me, I would ignore his correspondence, just like I will be doing from now on.

I've forwarded the email chain onto the BMFA, just in case anyone else has an issue with him as well. I don't need this sort of hassle right now.

Done the best thing in forwarding that back to BMFA. From that absuive email he'll lose his access to the sales section hopefully. That many helis and B cert I'd have thought he'd be on here. If you want to contest anything you have to stay at least civil. You did the right thing in naming also as it is helpful to inform others in having to deal with blaggers like this. I'd start a thread in BMFA too 'outing' him.

Do include the abusive email when you forward stuff to PayPal as well, all helps to characterize the individuals involved

Yeah I will do if it comes to that. I hate selling stuff because of the hassle you get, admittedly not that often but it's always a pain in the backside.

The last trouble I had was a year ago I guess so I was probably due another one. That was a wavemaker for a fish tank. The guy claimed when he got it the main controller part was soaking wet, and then when he plugged it in it went bang. That went to paypal and I pointed out that nobody in their right minds would plug a device into the mains if it was soaking wet in the first place. Paypal told them to send it back to me and then I could assess the damage, never heard from them again. It's just the hassle it causes, and I just can't understand why people think it's OK to act like this. I doubt this chap would think of taking a heli back to a shop because he'd crashed it, but because he's bought it privately he thinks he can get away with conning me? I know it shouldn't but even just the emails last night has properly stressed me out and given me a splitting headache this morning. Almost makes me wish I'd just binned it.

Well, it looks to me like he's saved you the job of telling him to feck off hahaha. As has been said before, they are everywhere and anywhere. I changed a basin tap a little while ago and a week or so later was accused of destroying the boiler because I "fiddled with the water???" It wasn't even the hot tap hahahaha.
