Spektrum and Neo

Iam thinking ofgetting a new model, and currently use VBar with Spektrum DX8. Thought I wouldlike to try the new Neo technology. So posted an enquiry on VBar forum, this isthe reply if anyone was thinking of doing the same.

It will be as proposed. The PC Software is in its final tests, and if itsavailable the NEO Version for other radio systems will be available as well.
Note that only the Spektrum satellite solution will be supported, since NEO hasno single Channel inputs anymore.

Neo PC software now downloadable from vstabi,Non V Link Neos went live and sold out on Mikado shop.

I installed the new PC software and connected up one of my Neo VLinks. It works with those too. It looks much like the old 5.3 PC software but has Neo specific settings. I didn't change any of my settings. Just browsed through them.

Wow, great news, but potentially expensive.

Is it possible to download and use the PC software without a NEO to take a look how it ticks?

I thought I'd ask rather than waste my time on what could be a fruitless endeavour.

EDIT: Never mind, I got it. I thought I might have to jump through some hoops or something to get it.

Yeh I was expecting to have a Retina scan or something and give a blood sample to get it but easy peasy.

Mikado confirm on their forum you can modify a VBC Neo with the software too,i have asked if you can now use V Link Neo with Spektrum Tx via sats as this was going to be possible,disabling the V Link Rx.

Excellent news ,V Link Neo will work with any Tx as well as VBC and at the same time for buddying.

Hi,

the built in VLink rx disables itself after a few seconds if no VBar Control is connected. This allows to bind after power up or to simply switch on tx, then rx, and fly.

If no VBar Control is present, the other tx is the boss. If a VBar Control is additionally present, VBar Control is master and the other tx is buddy.

Its in fact the identical firmware. You can use a Vlink NEO with any other radio as well. But this does not require a PC Software, its already possible with a VBar Control to program any other reciver as input as well.
VLink is not disabled, but can be unbound. So its ready to use any time.

It's included with the vbar control manager software.

Once installed, you get a "Vstabi NEO" shortcut.

I like the comment here if selecting V control as Tx option during setup routine.

I must admit, I do like the option now to do a V control Neo setup completely via the PC software instead of on the Tx itself, but of course fine tune on flightline from Tx,the absolute best of both worlds,,brilliant
