  • Ode to a hard time model....

    She sat in the corner
    All battered and bruised
    That poor little skylift
    Alone and unused

    My heart it did break
    So her Tranny I take
    In go the Batt'ries
    To fly her I'll make

    I put on some blades
    some flybars as well
    and think to myself
    this is gonna be hell

    So off up she goes
    with shudders and shakes
    then into the wall
    and new blades she breaks

    while on the way
    I cuss and I duck
as too near to my head
    my eyeballs to pluck

    I look and I curse
    but I lovingly take
    that poor battered skylift
    and mend all that break

    Once more I attach
    the lipo to her
    and power her up
so she takes to the air

    Again she has lifted,
    and after a bit
    I get her to hover
    and trim her a bit

    She hangs in the air,
and I watch for the light
    that tells me her time
    is up for the night

    I land at the end,
not a blade has she done
    2 batt'ries later
    and now having fun

    as twice in the air
    5 mins at a time
    she sits in the hover
    and lands oh so fine

    At last having fun
    with my Chinook as should
    she's getting more stable
    with each passing run...

    The End.

BTW, the moral to this story is:

No matter how hopeless it seems, don't give up, don't EVER give up, it will come okay in the end. I've now run a total of 3 lipos through my Skylift: and for any new ppl here just ask Ron and the others what I've gone through with her, and no crashes. Yes that's 3 lipos, 15 minutes of flying time and all ended with soft landings. Yay.

        why wouldn't jb's skylift fly
for clues he looked and looked
but now he knows the reason why
        because its completley ****ed

Ah no, actually I think truth be told, I bought her too early, I wouldn't recommend it for a novice, which I was. Now I've more experience behind me and know more why she wouldn't straighten up and fly right. Had I waited till now to fly her she'd have cost me far less. Now I've got her sorted, btw that's fully 5 batteries through her now, I'll look at getting a new body and lights and put the Camera on her again.
