I was going to go, depending on the weather.
The problem was, the forecasters couldn't make their mind up.
I checked the forecast every hour or two from Friday lunch time until I went to bed. In that time, the forecast changed from rain all day, to clear between 10AM and 5PM. It did that at least 5 times.
I checked Saturday morning about 8AM, and it said it was going to rain all day, so I decided not to go. 4 hours of travel to get soaked is no fun for me.
Then, the weather picked up in the afternoon (I was watching the awful live stream) and I was fuming.
Maybe I'll go next year, but I've been saying that since 2012.Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

fantastic event, we drove up from Torbay Saturday morning which took over 4 hrs then checked in etc...got soaked, then sunburnt lol but hey, its the UK! were used to it
Sunday was better, overcast but didn't rain but the wind picked up a bit.
Pilot standard was even higher than last year with some fantastic flying from so many people that I wont attempt to name them all. FL did us proud again and got in some great flyers from around the globe which really weren't to be missed.
My good friend and club-mate Chris Newby's tree chop was just staggering!! I have no idea how he did that from that distance!! epic!! and with the state of the blades afterwards lol, it was a wonder it came back
Lucy took home with us a bent link from chris's heli and some of the very bent part's from Ali Humphrey's failed (Sundays inters flight) blade scrape as souvenirs of the awesome weekend that was Helifest.
I think Russ Cleaver took away Chris' signed blades looking at facebook this morning
Very well deserved podium places and a most entertaining flight award were handed out justly.
If you missed it, sorry but you missed an awesome show, make the effort next year!!

Had a brilliant weekend.
Go every year rain or shine.
It's the only place I'll happily sit in the rain and get soaked.
The pilots deserved me getting soaked, for still flying in the rain.
First time I've been soaked 4 times and sun dried 5 times lol
First year camping at weston.
Roll on next year.Heli's: Trex 700 - os gt15hz : Goblin 380 & MSH Brain - Trex 450 Ikon : Blade 550x & 180cfx

My first event in 3 years after leaving the Hobby 3 years ago. The hobby has clearly changed and is completely different to what it use to be like. The style of flying has also changed
Although it was different, it was still great. Kyle Stacys Goblin flights were brilliant and its made me want to buy another heli, Roll on next year!I left the hobby 3 years ago and discovered Women.
I wish I never left.

There were 3 of us going, and nobody (myself included) was thrilled at the prospect of hours outdoors in the rain.
Had the forecast been accurate (it's 2015, where's the weather service from Back to the Future 2?), we'd have gone.Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
