Finally give up

Well, re-built the Skylift Monday, flew one battery through it and was looking like it would get to be stable, last night straight back to it's old self, all over the room heading straight for every solid object it could find, until it finally did slam into a wall then crash to the floor. Broke 7 blades in that one hit, plust bent both flybars.

I give up on it, it's now thrown in one corner with it's tx and left for dead. I can't afford to keep repairing every single time it gets off the ground.

Back to 1 heli now, my little Blade cx2, at least that knows how to behave, I wish I'd never bought the skylift, and even if they do bring out a 2.4 DSM version which looks on the cards they won't be getting any more of my money, it'd be better spent on the heli I've got or a B400.

It nearly got a boot on it last night to be honest..

thanks for posting the experience you have had with the skylift. i know myself and many others wont waste our money on 1 after reading your thread but saying that i like the belt cp for £115 posted and have had no problems with mine (been lucky i guess) where as 100's of others have had nothing but trouble with em.

Yeah, I know a couple of guys on here had heaps of probs with their CX2's, a shame, as mine flies like an absolute dream. I'd so looked forward to mounting a cam on the skylift, since it seemed to have so much more lifting power, coupled with what should've been the stability of a Coax. Obviously wasn't to be. I'm glad in the end I'd chosen the CX2 as my first heli, and not gone with my heart initially and bought the Skylift, if I had I would've been sorely disappointed.

In my experience the little CX2 takes a beating when you're learning, and still comes back together with as little as a new body and blades most times, or a full re-build at worst. She takes a lot to really break, and I think that maybe the issue with the Skylift, in that she's heavier, so when she hits it does throw a lot more out of whack, and when you are trying to get it stable it keeps crashing so you end up practically re-building the thing every couple of flights. But with blades hitting 6 quid a pack of 4, and she ruins 7 at a go Couple that to 30 quid a time for bodies and she's got through 4 already and you see where this is heading.

I feel you pain mate...Been there and done that... Slammed my 600n in Monday.. battery connection came out of reciever... 2nd time I have flown it this year 200 quids worth of pain and frustration

I feel yours too, makes mine pale in comparison mate.

Looking forward now, onward and upward they say, so next heli will be a 400 class, already settled on the one I like, the Blade 400, but likely be end of June when I'm on hols again. Should have plenty time to practice.

Yup, I fixed my one in the end. Just waiting on a new bod now, and rear shaft. Still trying to see how to fix it up on DSM and JP say it should've just been a matter of plugging in. I may have to order a new 3in1 from somewhere with new stock, as JP say they've changed the pulse settings on later models, as some earlier ones were different. May be good news.

That's the issue, I can't find anybody that's done it on the DX6i.

Excuse my impertinence, but I feel you should stop spending any money on co-axial helis immediately! They do not help you to fly a 'proper' heli and they can't fly outside in anything but the merest puff of wind.

I think you already have Phoenix. Concentrate on that, and saving your money for B400 or whatever. You will find the adrenaline starts flowing in a whole different way the first time you spool up a proper, rugged and manly helicopter. Decide this is the goal you want to achieve and go for it!
