Yeah nice chap. Delivery is a bit slow on the occasions I've used them but otherwise good service.

          Hi

          Ian here from Modellbauuk

Always happy to help if anyone needs anything. Carriage has been an issue but we have addressed this as best we can and turn around is very quick now. New developments. KingMax Servos, which Heli Harry is testing for us at the moment, are proving to be very good quality, prices to be announced shortly once we are 100% confident with the servos. Desire Power Batteries have proven themselve worthy contenders in the indoor flying competitions over the last couple of years giving 1st & 2nd place podium positions at many competitions for our pilots with the batteries being the main reason for these guys having the edge. Extra power & duration without extra weight. Their feedback. Harry is flying our batteries this year in his Agile 7.2 and his feedback has been "spot on" so their pedigree is starting to prove worthy of top heli pilot attention too. PM me for further info. Cheers. Ian

That's great news as often these parts are needed to get a model back in the air, so waiting for them often gets frustrating!

Went ahead and ordered from ModelbauUk, there was an unexpected extra charge for postage as apparently going with the option the site suggests isnt always accurate, that said even with the extra, postage was reasonable, Ian was very helpful and my parts arrived the very next day so postage is obviously no longer an issue!!
Definitely recommend giving Ian/modellbauuk a visit
              Thank you very lots dude

I read this thread a week ago before I placed my first order with Ian at ModelbauUK. The hex tool set was showing as being in stock and his price was competitive. A week later and with no delivery and no communication from Ian, I called and emailed twice before finally getting a text asking how he could help. I queried where my order was and he confirmed the product is out of stock (despite it still showing as being in stock on his website). That can happen though and so I thanked him for his offer to refund me, asking that he does so quickly so I can buy again from another supplier.

Two days on and Ian has not responded to my chasing texts or phone calls and I still have no refund. I have now had to raise a Paypal Claim to try and get my money back (and he hasn't responded to this as yet either)!

This may of course be a one off experience, but this hobby thrives on model shops who offer great service all the time. I feel really let down here and still don't have my money back...

Not a 1 off, 3 weeks no email, no answer or reply to calls. Needless to say paypal are on the case. Simply put nowhere near good enough.

I used then a few weeks back and the order arrived in time but I did try to call and email about it to change delivery address and there was no answer or reply, the order arrived at my old house and luckily the new people held it for me I won't be using them again I thought the service was poor by comparison to fast lad or midland

4 days on from when I was forced to raise a dispute with Paypal, Ian from ModelBauUK still has not responded! I'm not too worried from a financial perspective as I know that Paypal will find in my favour considering the circumstances, but why no attempt from Ian to at least rectify what was a bad enough situation already?

He's obviously happy to sit on my money and let me wait for the usual Paypal dispute process to take its course...

Avoid this seller guys, or you may have the same dreadful experience.

To be fair to Ian, he's been at the AIR competition this weekend. I imagine the run up to AIR and getting the stall ready has kept him really busy over the last week. I'm not denying you've had a bad experience, but I think this was possibly down to a hectic time rather than anything else.

Sure you mean well but it's not acceptable to have zero communication with your customers, leave them in limbo no goods yet keep your funds. I would avoid this retailer and go as far as finding a new hobby than relying on this company. Poor show look after your customers before trying to find new ones. My dispute is nearing the end thankfully.

I can appreciate Ian being busy - my life is equally hectic - but as MAJ just said, looking after your existing customers is essential both for good customer service and if you want to grow your business by building a good reputation. It would seem that my experience is not the only bad one either, plus I believe MAJ's issue did not happen in the last week so it doesn't seem this is just related to the build up to AIR.

I have always been upfront giving praise for good customer service and can remember posting about Align Trex UK, Midland Helis and Fast Lad in the past and am also not one to bemoan average service standards. This experience however is really, really poor... completing a Paypal refund takes literally a minute or two and in today's mobile/smart phone world can be completed anytime, anywhere to suit you 24/7.

I do indeed mean well! I suppose I like to think there is a difference between genuine people/businesses that sometimes slip up, and those that really don't care about customers. I believe this is more of the former rather than the latter.
