I just wired up a Gryphon Quasar GSR 7075 LMT to my 550 and went to the internet to get a setup manual.
Well the one I downloaded showed the switch positions upside-down to get 6 Volts output. Every position is shown reversed....The manual I downloaded is just plain wrong.
Then I try a basic DC load test - I put a 1.5 Ohm resistor on its 6.0 Volt output to draw a steady 4.0 Amps.
It's output drops from 6.0 V to 4.90 V .. that is crap regulation by anybody's standards. Rubbish.
So I try a short circuit test...... and it blows up, smells bad and now outputs 4.8V on no load....so it's going in the bin..
Can anyone confirm that this device is any use at all?
I am reluctant to buy another until someone tells me the bloody thing works properly.
