  • DT helis?

I've heard these mentioned in the US with very positive comments. I wondered if anyone on this side of the Atlantic has any experience of them, knows if they are available in Europe, etc.

Here's a link to Only Fine Helis, who sell them in the states: DT 520E V2 Belt Classic FBL Helicopter airframe only [DT520EV2A] - $399.99 : Only Fine Helis - Align, Blades, Canomod, Canopies, Compass, Edge, Flybarless, Fusuno, Futaba, Gaui, Heli, Hyperion, Mavrikk, Miniature Aircraft, OS, Outrage, Radix, Rail, R

PS Please don't kill me if I'm posting this in the wrong section - I couldn't find a more suitable place.

I looked into getting a DT 520 instead of my X5.

I could only find one EU dealer (SmackZone.eu D.T. Dart Tin RC-Heli Modellbau Onlineshop - www.smackzone.eu RC-Heli Onlineshop) and the price was no better than the X5 as I got my X5 for £235 new in the box.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Thanks for the replies. Both the X5 and Cell seem like good alternatives in that size category.

I really like the robust, totally over-engineered look of the HD Cell 500 - and I suppose the price isn't completely OTT though it does seem high-end.

Oh! I just noticed that the HD Cell 500 is actually less expensive than the X5 :-s

          Fast-Lad have the X5 formual kit w/blades @ €559, while the Cell kit w/blades is €499 !

I'm a complete numpty. Disregard my post above. For some weird reason I read your post as HD 500 and not DT 520. Very sorry about that.

            EDIT:
A quick google search pulled up http://www.smackzone.eu/ who appear to have the full DT range for sale in Germany.

No worries! Even though you have now led me down the rabbit-hole of giving the HD 500 a closer look ;-)

My set of Gaui blades were total junk too, so HD Cell 500 looks even better value.

The only thing I don't like about the Cell, is that it takes mini servos.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.

I suppose this could also be seen as an advantage in that it reduces weight and cost. And today's mini servos are, presumably, up to the task.

I'd say BKs (or similar) are, but not cheap servos like Align DS515ms. Not if you fly hard(ish).
