... or perhaps I spend too much time in the USA and have been in the same position as the Helifreak guys too often?
The first message was ok,but people must have been contacting them and they must have got p**ssed beacause the second one started with "as I said the site will be down etc etc,,,so if you missed the first one and only saw the second, then that's pretty "rudely direct" no matter what book we have,,if they are annoyed at people contacting them to find out whats happening they should not reveal that to customers,,maybe Im too old and set in my ways to expect manners from a company

Perhaps it is just me then, but I totally fail to see why '... as I said' seems rude.
To me it is just a back reference to the fact that this was anticipated and is not a new problem ...
The point is the first message explained what was happening,,then a new message appeared starting with as I said,,so if you did not see the first one, when you clicked on the site you were greeted with as I said, which to me is treating people like they were some dumbwit who didn't understand the first message,,thats the one they didn't see of course.
Do you see what Im getting at,,its like going onto amazon site and there is a message saying "as I said earlier",,would you not be thinking "I wasn't bl***Y here earlier to read that was I"
less than professional IMHO of course

We can keep on going around in circles, but it seems unlikely to change anything.
'... as I said' taken literally is just a confirmation that what was said before is still true, it carries no connotations of anger or treating people as dumb, there was no tone to it at all, just a confirmation that what had been said before was still true.
You didn't have to read the earleir message as they repeated the content in the subsequent message.
You choose to be offended by it, I do not see the problem, I doubt this is going to change
