Logo 550sx Getting confused...??? Headspeeds!

OK, I have just got my 550sx back together after a major gear swap! The spec is now:

Scorpion 4025-1100kv
Powerjive 120HV
Fullsize Vbar Silverline (pro)
HV servo's
Mod 0.7 gear 153 main & 16t pinion.

Thing is, following the thread on 10s batteries, I thought I would check what headspeed I could expect if I use my Opti 4300 5s packs. But I am getting mixed results???

Mr Mel says: 70% 2009, 73% 2064, 76% 2118 & 80% 2190 which I think are pretty reasonable headspeeds for the 550sx (aren't they?)

That is without ATV being calibrated (not sure what that is TBH )

With it on, the results are much less: 80% 1973, 85% 2027, 90% 2082, 95% 2136...!

If I try a different app (Heli Headspeed on Iphone), it is totally different giving a headspeed of 1723 at 90% throttle (but that's all it predicts!)


So, I suppose my questions are....Has anyone run a logo 550 on 5s & what was it like? and what is the ATV calibration???

Not an sx but 5003d (same thing) but I use a 4020 1100 & 15t & it was a slightly less headspeed but still a very capable 3d set up although geared still for 6s. I only done it because i refuse to bin a battery which can be used so I removed the dead cell & I had 2 packs light that. Personally I would just aim for 6s. Just see you have an opti pack to go in so just plug it in & try it. My concern with that pack though is cog as it's very light but performance wise it'll still be fun.

Atv is end points isn't it??

Cheers Chaps, went out to try it today but it was too cold and windy to see how it really performed!

It hovered well though

Quite a weight saving with the 5s 4300's over the 6s 5000's but we will have to see how they perform another time!

Just calibrating end points with the esc to your radio but not needed as you program endpoints to you throttle stick via jive programming with a linear TH curve.
