          who spotted the mistake?

i've set the engine 2 1/2 turns out as per the manual
          before i run it

i'm now richening it to 2 turns out as the top end is a little lean to run it in

and with dave f's fuel it looked at first that the tank was empty

              Hi Guys,

Dave won't post on here so I thought I'd respond...
After 4/5 years in the hobby I had never owned nitro, so when I got my first nitro 6 months ago I was totally overwhelmed at the amount there is to consider, tuning, fuel, rich/lean etc.

Fortunately I have come to know Dave well, so he has been an amazing source and really helped me get up and going. Truth is, most people don't have a guy like him on their doorstep!

So, these 'video guides' are something we have been thinking of doing for a while, and when I blew my 91 about a month ago this seemed like the perfect time to do it. Brand new engine and not a clue on how to run in

As this is our first one, there are mistakes and it isn't perfect. Like Dave flying on water lol. Thankfully I spotted that at the last minute and managed to put a disclaimer in! Also the wind noise is frustrating... But not having done much filming outside on windy days my mic isn't really geared for it; but we're going to invest in a deadcat (thats a fluffy thing that goes over the mic - save the clever comments!) so the next one will be better. Also we initially set the mixture leaner as Dave has had to on other 105's - but mine was to the manual. So in the end it seemed wise to exclude that from the video and just run as per the manual. Sure, there might be the odd comment that doesn't add up but in general the information is good and clear so anyone with two braincells should be able to work it out.

There will be more in the series, so subscribe! Currently we have planned videos on tuning, installing the engine and changing bearings. Obviously if there is anything you want him to cover then ask and we'll just shoot it.

Other than that it was just a bit of fun so we hope you enjoy!

              p

Very good video overall, thought that was you Phil! Just go by the manual and you'll not go wrong with a new engine and then tune as Dave did in the video, I reckon the vid will be very helpful to a lot of people.

Thanks Phil. Let's hope Dave can be persuaded to come back and post. Slowly but surely we can get rid of this culture of nit picking everytime someone try's to be constructive and helpful

That at wasn't aimed at anybody. Pointing out genuine mistakes is OK. I'm sure everyone knows the kind of remarks I'm referring too!

                      Awesome video,

Out of interest, you didnt say Dave doesnt post, you said he wont post. Why? I'm guessing too many shitty comments from others.

Thanks for your time for doing the vid!

Yeah there can't be that many Phil's with brand new 105's FYI I'm loving it - still rich as hell but already blows the 91 out of the water!

Don't/won't/doesn't - no specific choice of words but I think it is a combination of shitty comments and that he'd rather be flying

Ron - Thanks for posting Dave and Phils video. I for one have learnt a fair bit from it. I don't have anyone to stand along side me to advise on stuff like that.
Even if I had the knowledge, I wouldn't be able to make a video because; well I just can't. So I really appreciate it when people like Dave and Phil do.

                          Thanks Guys

Much the same for me Dave, people who take time to do this sort of thing and eating into their hobby time are to be applauded. Thanks Dave and Phil for putting it together.

I know its a bit subjective but what needle settings on 20% Nitro did Dave end up with, he said where he started but maybe I missed where he ended up?

Oh and great job, and 100% agree Dave has no need to do this but he did!! Thanks for all who do stuff like this
