I think the Align 615 cyclic and 655 tail combination is a good not to costly choice, unless your a top level flyer, then you might benefit from using the Hv servos that come with the standard kit.I believe the Talon 90 will work with the bigger motor but is only just sufficient, so a larger ESC is a better bet.Trex 550 Dfc v3 with Mini Vbar on Pro.

This ESC has power to spare at a bargain price, a great built in governor too: Hobbyking YEP 150A (2~6S) SBEC Brushless Speed Controller (UK Warehouse)
As for servos, if it were me i'd go for these high voltage brushless ones. I'm useing these in a Trex 600 and they are great: Aliexpress.com : Buy Freeshipping GARTT High Speed Swamp Dawg Air Boat without Electric Parts Remot Control Two Channels Big Sale from Reliable boat exhaust parts suppliers on GARTT -RC factory OUTLET | Alibaba GroupGoblin Kraken, SoXos Strike 7, XLPower Specter, Goblin Black Thunder T, Goblin 700 Speed, Goblin 770 Comp Carbon, Trex 700X, Kasama Dune, Henseleit TDR

Decent ESC for the money, but I wouldn't depend on the BEC to power a FBL setup.Originally posted by Grumpy View PostThis ESC has power to spare at a bargain price, a great built in governor too: Hobbyking YEP 150A (2~6S) SBEC Brushless Speed Controller (UK Warehouse)
Not a problem if you are using HV servos direct on 2S Lipo of course...Last edited by Mark_T; 17-02-2015, 08:34 AM.

Agreed, which was part of the reason for suggesting HV Brushless servos. The ones I suggested were £140 for the set of three cyclics and a tail servo. By the time you factor in the cost of a BEC (which would be required for LV servos) then these BRAND NEW HV brushless ones are probably a cheaper choice even compared to second hand DS610/DS650, as well as being much higher performance.Originally posted by Mark_T View PostDecent ESC for the money, but I wouldn't depend on the BEC to power a FBL setup.

+1 to the KST servos excellent servos even if they were £100 more, make sure they are well greased and you wont be disappointed.

ok so i got a bit lost looking at all this as i have no idea what the bec etc is other than it powerless the fbl unit so i cancelled my order for the airframe and motor and decided to go for a 500 super combo instead that comes with everything, when i upgrade to a bigger heli ill hopefully understand what you guys are talking about properly
