I have the Align starter but it strugles to spin up my trex 700, I see the Sullivan is better, just wanted to know what others are using for 90 size engines? 18v drill any good?

It seems like some of the Align starters have more grunt than others because I have heard people say their Align starter handles everything including their .91 engines. But mine struggled with the bigger engines. I was able to start my YS91SR with the Align starter but if it was being difficult, like sometimes on the first run of the day, it would quickly drain the packs in the starter. So it was then that I got a Dynatron. I still use the Align as it's convenient but only on .50 size engines.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

Sullivan Dynatron with a Robbe starter shaft fixed, 5s pack. It will start everything.
I was using it with the rubber cup for ages but it just pi ssed me off every time the wand fell out so I'd defiantly recommend either the Robbe or Sullivan fixed shafts.Last edited by George J; 07-02-2015, 08:45 PM.George

The Sullivan shaft looks nice but mine slipped once it done it once it done it again and in the end it was knackered as it would not grip the shaft...the Robbe is far better in my opinion Midland or Skyline do them...Heli central...Basildon RC helis...strictly helis only...

My Align starter needs a new battery but it still starts OS105s no bother. Good luck using it to turn over a hydro locked engine, but then you shouldn't be doing that anyway. Granted, I would probably need to charge the battery after 10 or so starts, but that's fine by me as I personally like the compactness of the align starter.
Maybe I should write a new guide? I'll add it to my list of ideas for guides to write:
Nitro vs Electric- Check!- Futaba vs Spectrum
- Turnigy vs Premium
- Dynatron vs Align Super Starter

we all know futaba wins
lipo's are a lottery whatever the make but premium have more punch
and there is only one starter dynatron
so the new guides won't take long to write upHirobo Turbulence D3
