Trex 600 clone FBL head from ebay.

One ogf the guys in the club wants to make an old trex 550 flybarless. I'm sure the 600 head is the same. There are some available non genuine DFC ones on ebay, has anyone tried one?
He flys mostly sport and is starting to 3D.

Also would it be OK on a standard swash?

The standard swash is ok, i cant comment on the quality of the clone heads though.

Trex 600 will fit 550 fine as I used a full 600pro on my old 550, only thing I'd change on clone head is feathering shaft just a personnel thing

If you are using a DFC head with the standard swash then you need to change the balls on the swash as the DFC links are slightly larger diameter. You also need the shorter DFC mainshaft. This is the setup I have on my 550 having converted from a fly bar.

FWIW, you can use pretty much any FBL head that uses a 10mm main shaft. I'm currently flying my Trex 600 Pro with the FBL head from a Blade 550x, I prefer it to the Align heads. Only thing you might have to do is trim the main shaft length and/or re-drill the jesus bolt hole, but there are several different shafts for the various different trex 600/550versions so you can usually find one that's close.

My Trex 600N's have CopterX flybarless heads, my first 600N came with one fitted and they work well enough that I just bought a second to convert a flybarred model.

My 600n has the rjx head on it...not dfc and spares are getting harder to source (ireland usually if HK out of stock). It's cheap and served me well enough but might get swapped for an alternate next time I break it badly.
