  • Watt/Current/Volt/Etc Meter

It's been suggested that it would be useful to put a metering device between the LiPo & ESC on my problem EP100, to find out what's actually going on, and to see how various changes improve (or not) things.

There are a few products on the Aurorra site http://www.aurorra.co.uk/shop/home.php?cat=254 , two around £50, and several rather more...

Has anyone done this ? What did you use ? What did you find out that was useful ?
    Yes, it's th@ tw@ Scallyb@...

they get used just to see what watts they pulling and amps and that way can make there mind up for which battery , escape to use on certain props ... mainly planks i seen it with .... As for helis it wud be the same thing ... tells ya what its pulling and then ya can decide on the escape and battery to run on the motor that u have installed The inline ones are better than the ones that have like a ring round them as ya get more of an accurate result offa em ....theres a conversion guide somewhere on the net .. for planks tho ... put in the motor and prop size and it tells ya what combo ya shud be running

on an EP100 you want something very light, so the Oracle on the Aurorra site would be the one to use. There are several products available that do this, the Oracle is one of them, the EagleTree Datalogger is the other. They both do pretty much the same thing.

I have both. I use the oracle for data comparisons as you can overlay different runs on the same graph, which you can't do with the Eagle Tree. The s/w is a bit nicer on the Oracle as well, the Eagle Tree s/w is a bit over complicated.
