PS.. another one with self leveling and bailout is the new version of the Spektrum Microbeast Plus 'V4 pro': -= BEASTX - BE ABSOLUTE STABLE =-

But be carefull with this one because you only get those extra features if you pay for the 'V4 Pro' firmware upgrade. Seems that Spektrum are taking a leaf out of Mikados book and selling you products with some of the features turned off, then asking you to pay a shed load of money to turn them on

Yeah Anth, I think a bailout option will boost my confidence and probably pay for itself pretty quickly! To be honest I'd like to see them on more smaller CP models too. I'm hoping it will help with progress too in that it provides a bailout option when learning new moves etc.
I think you'll be there well ahead of me with a large heli, so I'll be watching your progress with interest.

BeastX / microbeast has nothing to do with Horizon Hobby / Spektrum. Spektrum is a Horizon Hobby brand (like Blade), who licence the FBL technology from the German company BeastX. Spektrum then use that technology in the AR7200BX and AR7300BX integrated reciever/FBL units.

The firmware for the AR7200BX/AR7300BX is different to the BeastX/microbeast firmware. Neither of the Spektrum units support "bailout".

As per my other post - this is nothing to do with Spektrum or Blade. BeastX is a German FBL manufacturer who produce tech that is licenced by Spektrum for different products.

Thanks for the info.. I assumed 'BeastX' was just an Horizon hobby brand, me bad.

PS.. the new Microbeast Plus 'V4 Pro' does have self leveling and bailout, here's an extract from the page I linked to in previous post:

AttitudeControl

AttitudeControl overs different modes of self leveling. These are "Bailout rescue mode", "3D-Mode" and "Flighttrainer mode" with angular limitation. Basically when you activate the AttitudeControl it will turn your helicopter back to level position when you release the sticks.

Though as you say, the Spektrum AR7200/7300BX units with integrated receiver doesnt (yet)

I really like the idea of a self-levelling trainer mode too, along with the bailout. In fact that new Beast product sounds great for someone like me. I think I'll be looking to the 6-axis options when I'm ready to go large.

The Spirit seems to be the cheapest/best option if you want self level and bailout right now. The microbeast works out expensive by the time you take the 'V4 Pro' software upgrade into the price (without which is doesnt have self level or bailout)

The Spirit sounds good too, but I'm hoping there will be plenty of reasonable cost 6-axis options when I'm ready to buy a large expensive heli. Probably next year at the earliest for me due to other commitments. Then again, maybe I won't care by then as I should have logged so much time on smaller models!

Thanks guys going to do some more research but will set one up when I get my new kit just if it saves a few **** ups has to be worth it!!

built my first 4Ch today, came in bits so thought it would be a good idea to do a small build just to get my head around it .. Was daunting at first ! Then when I got going was very good messed around with the Swash plate for ages as the servos needed a lot of fiddling with (I guess that's normal) but it's hovering pretty much perfect now ,another step in the right direction feel like I've learnt a lot of just added the servos and getting the swash right TBH !

It's for a friend he's thinking of starting and I said I'd build for him was a Syma Red dragon 4 Ch from the states took about 4hrs for what it cost was great , haven't had it outside as there's a good wind !

On other issues windows updated my laptop today! and no for the life of me I can't get my Sim to run !!! Very annoyed ..
tryed resores the lot ! Just says Error initialising Grapic Hardware everytime .. Any one with ideas will be greatly recieved !
