Yeah but PP for a flying site is not the same as PP for a 4 bed detached house so Im not sure PP for flying will add much/if any to the value. I think an attached paddock to the house is the best way to go...

well you could look at it that way , i would think it would not add that much if any ,but one thing is for sure i would not buy a peace of land with out making sure i have planning to fly there first ,and you may not need it but better to find out you will be surprised at what counsels & others in an area can do. i have seen people stuck with this type of thing before when its to late and they got it and told that there would be no problems . until some guy turns up and then u find out , that's what its like here and im in the middle of no ware that my 2p worth

Plenty down in the West Country if you are prepared to do the work. I'd be there now if my shithole had sold

Prices should be on the slide now as well...as my estate agent keeps telling me

Yeah, small holdings seem to be holding their money rather better than the domestic housing market currently but this is something we are investigating.

Stupid qestion from a stupid person...How many acres is needed for the average flying site - will prob need to cater for planks too

As long as you have permission to overfly you only need enough to take off and land

I'd say about four if planks are included. Obviously it's the approaches/climbouts that would determine the minimum size.

Ten or more would be better!

I'd say 3 acres plus some space for parking thats a Good Size and you'll get good size models up and down plane for helicopter.

well mate when i was a member of a club in the uk & it was for planks & im talking about the fenced area rented by the club just to give an idea , my house is on an acre 3 quarters is the back garden id say the club area i could fit 2 or 3 times in it , but the way your talking id say 3 to 5 and you would have plenty of room for indoor & planks area & heli area & you will need a tractor mower as well lol as i have i rid on mower and it takes me an hour & half and im moving

MY inlaws have 5 acres in France and the small ride on mower they use is way too small so I had already reckoned on a tractor (how better can life get )

Jeez. What a lovely idea. It would be nice to know what some (realistic) 2 - 3 year projections sound like? Based on your 700K figure, if this was somewhere near to me and there was a pukka business plan to back it up, I would seriously consider stepping-up with (say) 5%.

You might want to have a look at the date of the post and Colins present address.

I don't think so, Colin left these shores around 2 years ago and I think the idea went with him.
