  • Trex 150 tail issues

    Hi

    I have a Trex 150 and when i give it any amount of collective the tail moves about 45 degrees to right,ive tried adjusting tail precomp up and down from 2 lights to 4 lights,doesn't make any difference,also i have lynx 47mm tail prop on over standard one.Anyone any ideas please. Thanks

      Hey.

      How much collective pitch are you running? Too much can give the tail a hard time during any pitch pump type manoeuvres.

      Has the model had a crash or knock? Could the main shaft bearings be a little rough/damaged and be putting more drag on the model.

              Hey Buddy.

              When I next run inside, I'll check my DSX12 model memory settings for my 150. Be a good comparison with the gyro gain and pitch travel.

              With the BLheli mod, the software costs nothing as it's freely given out, a small cost would come if you wanted to have a handheld programmer for example. You can use a cheap tool stick;

              USB Programmer for Micro Helicopter ESC

              To flash the firmware and then make any changes to the various parameters from your laptop/PC, or you can program an Arduino and LCD shield to use as a field programmer, this then acts like the Vbar control panel where you plug it in, access & change settings then fly.

              I built mine from one of these;

              SainSmart UNO R3 Improved Ver + Graphic LCD4884 Shield Starter Kit For Arduino | eBay

              It's cheap enough, then I added a 2s balance connector in the side of the case I brought so I can power the unit from a spare 150 battery out on the field. While at home, I can connect it to a USB port and this provides power and then uses the Arduino as the interface between PC and MSR unit.

              If you wanted me to, I could do it for you no problem, adding the small connectors to the MRS unit and grabbing you a tool stick or the Arduino.
              As above, as long as you bear in mind there is risks, like jail breaking/rooting mobile phones, but it's pretty straight forward, the only hiccup I had was making sure I was using the right port on the PC to see the Arduino interface.

              Another good link;
