You people actually believe Top Gear,TOWIE & Made in Chelsea are real?

I never have, and never will watch those other two programmes you mention, but I love Top Gear!

Does anybody believe it's real? No, of course not! It's a light entertainment programme ... designed to be a bit of fun for petrol heads.

Pretty sure the BBC continues funding it because it pulls in large numbers of viewers.

Haha there's always someone who gets upset... It's tv of course it isn't real.

FYI top gear makes the BBC more money through licensing than any other show they produce (Doctor who is 2nd so what does that tell you!).

So yes it'll be back next year.

if they make that much money why can't they get better writers? Change the storylines instead of just the location?

And those figures you are talking about are a drop in the ocean compared to the phone vote revenue streams on Strictly and The Voice, and those shows are shit too!

We al know its scripted but at least its just three guys honing about in cars - the other two are a poor TV made on a budget and watched by mindless folk or idiot teenagers who think the people in the shows are real celebrities.

They won't arrive and get all dewy eyed over their cars this time, they get chased out by an angry mob - which probably wasn't in the script.

To me you're all the same, how many times can you laugh at someone driving over a rickety bridge? Clarkson bumping into Mays Car? Hammond getting the squirts? It might have been funny the first couple of times but like happy clapping children you're all still giggling every time James May says "****" the same way my daughter did every time Joey Essex said "Reem". It wasn't funny the first time, it's even less funny the twentieth!

I guess I'm just old fashioned, I just like entertainment to be entertaining, factual shows shows to be informative, fiction to be engaging and comedy to be funny, TG manages to fail on every level!

Mmm? normaly I laugh and disagree with Guys little (big) Top Gear rants ( which are becoming a little repetitive ironically ) . But some how I can't seem to find fault with his grumbles this time, rickety bridges,stuck in puddles ,pushing each other,silly night time decorations.All we need tonight is the one wheel on the edge of a cliff whilst the local bus driver attempts to squeeze past and its complete! So come on Clarkson and gang no more boy scout pranks around the tents,stop in a city with strip clubs and bars like real men would

No different to most other tv, how many times can some get murdered or have a massive argument on xmas day in a square with around 30 houses, its scripted but it still draws in 13m viewers.

I only ask cause they were as poor at their job as the three actors.

I mean that Peugot sign accross the top of the Mach1 screen got a bit "now you see it now you don't"
One minute your cars dirty, next minute it's clean? Dents appear and disappear how does that happen on a factual non scripted programme?

And you're telling me Clarkson repaired a 911 ECU with a soldering iron in the middle of nowhere while Hammond skinned and butchered a whole cow without specialist knives and cleavers?

The BBC approved the budget to send a whole film crew, equipment & vehicles to South America without submitting a route? Not even knowing which countries they'd pass thru? How would you get any type of production insurance, vehicle cover etc?

****es me off when the BBC refuse to fund groundbreaking quality projects and then pour hundreds of thousands into this old tosh. The scripts are the same every year, car braeaks down, the others drive off, producers threaten them with cars they don't like, keep bumping into Mays car, vandalise each other's cars while people sleep, next episode they'll supposedly adapt their cars in ridiculous ways, they'll all arrive and get misty eyed about their rides.

I could go on but what's the point?

Sadly I was outvoted, I was happily ploughing through Netflix box sets of Breaking Bad, Brooklyn Nine Nine, and Archer. Proper TV for grown ups!
