  • Check those blades!

Hi Guys, I had a good day up at box hill on sunday however graeme didnt do so well!

its starting to become a habbit!

anyway... he fluffed an auto (my fault, too busy watching the flight and forgot the watch so he rushed it) oops....

wasnt a bad in but broke a few tail gearbox related parts.

so it was checked over and fixed intime for him to practise some set moves.

however something died inflight during caos. Post crash inspection showed all links still attached to the head and a rather stragly broken blade, the top and bottom halves appear to have seperated.

it was caught on video an as you can see from the attached pics you can see the part of the blade seperate from the model, followed by a paddle (vibration?) then the boom breaks at the frames (gotta be vibration!) then in the next frame you can see the boom is now bent and the rest is a rather quick desent to earth!

the blades were checked before the flight and seemed to be fine so many once blades have hit the ground it might be an idea not to fly blades that have been crashed even if they appear to be undamaged.

these had been crashed so must have been internally damaged which then wasnt spotted during inspection.

i certainly will think twice before using crashed but apparently undamaged blades again.

Have to admit to having one or two odd blades sitting around with the thought of eventually matching them up, but maybe thats an unwise idea.
                  All the best
