  • Should i buy a trex 450l dominator or stay with my 450 pro dfc

I like to try and keep up to date and although i have only hovered my trex 450 pro dfc a dozen times i am so tempted to buy the 450L and enjoy a new build and sell the 450 pro dfc.

I am still very much a learner especially as i didnt touch a heli for 11 months due to ill health.

    what do you guys think?

i am beginning to gain a lot of confidence with my 130x and doing very lazy 8's

I would stick to what you have, and get some use and practise from it, plus you will lose money to gain a new build and miss out on stick time.

I would get the gaui x3 if I was looking for a 6s 360mm bladed heli. Iv owned both he 450l and the x3 and its the gaui which impressed me the most.
The 450l is pricey to repair in a crash for its size the x3 is a tank. Its a little more to get the x3 setup but worth it imo.
The x3 is beefier all round too in terms of parts.

I prefer the normal 450 pro dfc over the 450L - and cheaper to crash.

I upgraded my 450 pro to 6s and am now getting six minute flight times. Got to admit being tempted by the 450L, but the extra weight keeps putting me off. And I'm really enjoying the way the 450 flies.

Stick with it IMO and when you get comfortable and confident maybe go 6S. The 3S versions aren't exactly slow when coupled with a decent LiPo though :-)

+1 exactly what i did.. kept the pro dfc airframe but upgraded to the 6s dominator motor.. even with a 3500 headspeed i still get a good 5.5-6min flight time. This is on gensace 6s 1200 packs.

I can't really describe the difference in flight characteristics between the two airframes but imo the standard 450 airframe just flies nicer and retains its nimbleness more than the 450L which is what i like about the 450.. that and the cheapness of them!
