Does anyone know for sure if the JR8700G servo will work ok with a GY401 gyro?

          I haven't specifically tried the 8700 with a 401, but. . . . . .

Typically Futaba Gyro don't like JR servos much, as the gyro sends a funny signal during power up, that throws JR servos over to maximum movement. This can easily stall the servo against the mechnical stops of the tail pitch mechanism.

If it survived the power up, the servo worked fine after that ! (I was trying to use an 8700 with a 502). I didn't leave it on for long, a couple of flights, once I replace it with a Futaba servo, it all worked fine, with no other changes.

Yes we are sure, the 8700 will work on the 401 but wont last long, the reason being is the frame rate of the 401 is different to what the 8700 can read and in the end it will just blow the pot either in flight or if your lucky on the ground before flight.

the servo will work with the 401....but not for long. the 401 doesn't send the correct signal to the servo when you switch it on (the 8700 needs this, the 8900 doesn't) so when you turn it on it goes hard over...i.e binds and it will kill the servo.

                cheers

What they all said, I ruined an 8700g by using it with a 401. On startup when you have an 8700g connected to a 401, the servo will go hard over one way, they usually burn out pretty quickly
