the rappy .30 v2 is a few years old now. What you're best doing is drawing up a list of what you want to put in it and then phoning around for the best price. "mega-deals" usually contain the stuff the shops can't sell otherwise so shop with caution! Oh, welcome to the financial black-hole!

      (beat me to it!!)

I am no expert, but i have just re-equipped my Raptor 30 with some good quality electronics. It might be better to see if you can get a good deal through a model shop with quality electronics as opposed to what they are bundling.

It might cost a few more ££ but i think you will find it worth the money in the end.

Thunder Tiger (or is it Amerang) seem to be pretty slow getting their new products into the shops, you may have to wait a little longer yet for the 30v2 combo , for the same reason some of us are waiting for the Super Cobra body for the mini Titan, which I have now found out won't be in the shops until the middle of May. You always seem to get the pre-release hype first then it eventually arrives.

Okay heres the thing a Raptor 30 is now old...

                kits are what 189 - 199 ?

So you could go Raptor titan Kit 50 size 249

                Or T-rex 600n 199 kit price

Engine 119 pounds muffler 50 pounds, Servos.. buy a futaba 7cap 2.4ghz use servos inc to begin with. gyro 401 and 9254 are about 149 pounds...

Stick another 100 on for all the starting gear and fuel...

At the end of the day to kit out a 30 or 50 machine your looking scratch set up 800 to 1000 pounds.

Oh yea and don't skimp on it because you'll end up buying parts twice and thats not so good!

Marks right buy once buy right, trying to do this hobby really cheap does tend to backfire on you.

When starting out the best thing to do get to a club have a chat with someone who knows about helis, then go for some recommended kit, You don't have to go for top spec stuff, but get something that will take you through a good part of the learning curve and then again user the club for help with setup and trimming.
                  All the best
                  Tony.

:lurk5: I bought a Raptor 30 V2 when they first came out (September 2003) and then sold it on some months later only to be bitten by the bug again - agree with the others too - set aside £1000 for a setup and you'll find it hard to go wrong.

You'll notice there's a few banners appearing on the Site

Google some of the company name's as the web links don't quite work yet Then phone around and see what kind of offers you get.

Ask about a 50 machine Knight or T-rex or Titan or Sceadu evo

                        Engine(O.S Hyper Engine or align)/muffler (Hatori 522 or MP5)

Radio kit Spektrum or futaba 7cap 2.4ghz the 7cap has slightly better servo's I reckon the 3152 servos. Gyro go 401 and 9254 tail servo.

I agree with Disc totally, have a good look at a .50 sized model, I have a Hirobo Sceadu .50 and it's a great machine to learn on - stable in the hover yet tons of power available if you're brave enough to exploit it. I don't regret the extra few quid I spent on going .50 sized at all.
