  • throttle hold

I fly with a JR dsx 11 and I am struggling to get my head around throttle set up. At the moment when I hit hold I have to close the throttle fully for it to take effect then as I raise the stick its in hold and only moving the pitch. Now I can move this position that it has to be dropped below to work but my question is why do they have this as a variable and not just flick the switch and the throttle servo will drop to what you have it set at and not have to think I have to close the stick first for it to work ?

I'm not sure i understand, so if you hit th hold nothing happens unless you lower the throtle stick all the way down? That kinda defies the th hold purpose...

That's right there is no hold until it has been closed But i can adjust this to be 100% and it would work without closing my question was why would they have this and do people not set it to work at 100% throttle on either nitro or leccy. ?

I believe its to do with throttle and Pitch curves when using idle ups 1 2 3 etc
When you have say a V curve on the throttle in idle up 1 some TXs need know that when the stick is at the bottom ie full throttle and max negative pitch
you can't in inadvertently switch the throttle hold on and the engine dies on you, plus you can set the throttle hold to any % above idle speed to practise Auto's etc
I always make sure newbies at our club have throttle hold enabled and working and that it comes on if the throttle stick is in any position for starting,
So you get in the habit of making sure the thr hold switch is on when starting nitro/electric heli's..... Save's taking your fingers off or worse if it goes strait to full thr when starting

So set for100% of throw with a tick over servo position on nitro and 0 or fully closed for lecy

            Yes sounds about right
You want the throttle to go to tick over when throttle stick is in any position when you flick the thr hold switch (nitro)
And as you say 0% throttle with leccy.
