I just got a RC Logger LED lighting system for my 450Pro from Midland on special here:
41001RC | RCLogger LED lighting system
It works great and the lights are cool which will help flying into the darker hours into the winter, the only issue i am having is one of the main reasons i bought the kit, to be able to use a 3 position switch on my DX8 and switch lights into different modes, ie Off, Nav Lights, Landing Lights.
Following the instructions i connected it to my spare AUX2 port as i'm not using 2 x sats or a governor, changed the switch allocation to my Gov switch/ AUX2 Switch which has 3 positions.
It works but not as i intended as i can only switch modes on power up to the unit, it recognises which switch position i am in and correctly puts the lights into the correct mode, but why once powered up switching the switch has no effect so i cannot switch modes like Landing Lights ON while flying and powered up? I have to disconnect the Lipo and reconnect and power up to switch modes which seems daft to me?
Am i doing something wrong, have i missed a step in setting up the DX8? I've tried everything switching to AUX 3, trying different switches and using Mixes, but nothing works for me after the unit has powered up it is stuck in that mode like it is not recognising the PWM signal?
I did have to cut the Futaba J type connector to fit my Spektrum AR8000 Rx, is it possible that it is only made for Futaba and the PWM signal to switch modes is not recognised by the Spektrum signal? The reason i ask is in the manual it says, if the signal is unrecognised it will select the correct mode during power up, then stay on that mode - which is what i'm experiencing although nothing in the manual says it only works fully with Futaba Rx/Tx.
The Unit comes with a control board so no extra switches are required, i am using an AR8000 Rx with Sat and a DX8 on a 3S setup.
It's driving me a bit nuts as i'm sure it must be possible or maybe it's a Futaba/Spektrum compatibility issue? Any help greatly appreciated even if the answer is NO it won't work on Spektrum equipment.
P.S i'm not a scale flyer
