    The build quality bit surprises me as i thought they would be top notch. Which one would say was nicer to fly the goblin or the 600?

      I like the build on the goblin the metal parts are good and all is precise, i have always bought align too, the goblin is good i do not think you will be disipointed, the nitro 600 is great for stick time and a proven heli for out the box, bolt together and fly, and bit more collective management is needed for the 3d moves though.
      its full of meaty goodness

          My take is that they are different.
          It would be good if you could try someone else's before you buy anything.
          I LOVE light, agile, "inertialess" helis like my 450x and 6HV so the heavier nature of the G570 makes it even more different but still very nice to fly.
          The Yellow/Red one I have is one of the best colour schemes on any bird I've ever seen. It's simply stunning.
          I think though there could be as big a difference in "feel" from the FBL unit you use as there is from the airframe itself. Both Beastx and Vbar are superb IMHO but feel very different from each other in flight.
          The Trex600 EFL pro I have uses an MSH brain with a looser feel setup, my Silverline equipped G570 is set up more precise and is more robotic.
          The machining thing makes no difference whatsoever to how it works and may even have been done on purpose to make it look more "machined"
          As I said, I don't think you can go wrong with either.
          Goblin=small object of desire
          Trex= quality hack

            It's the engineering of goblin i love, part counts are lower than trex and the quality of the parts are better. Maintenance is easier as it uses half as many screws.

            althrough trex parts are cheaper but after a crash if you add the total up i dont think you would save 100s of pounds compared to a goblin.

            they do crash reasonable well, i put my g500 in last year quite hard and i cant remember spending more than £150. Canopy and boom were fine which saved me a lot of expense.

              A goblin is definitely worth a try then. Think its time to start saving...

              Think im going to go with the 6s as I can then use the same batteries I have for my 550.

                    Bearing in mind though that a Trex 500 (swinging 425mm blades) is noticably smaller than a Goblin 500 (swinging 500-520mm blades), so is bound to be cheaper. As for the canopy cost, I got one of these for $50 + $20 shipping = £43 shipped.

                        This was comparing a Goblin 550 vs a T-Rex 550 ?

                        No-one seems to have referred to the 550L Dominator; and I think it merits a good look.

                        It has a shorter boom than the previous 550; but strikes me as simple, brutal (look at the motor - 730MX), and high spec (look at the servos). The super combo has everything except LiPos and sats.

                        I'm not sure it's for me, but seems quite different and a nice kit.

                          I have the older Trex 550 pro dfc with the 730 mx and the 600 boom. I am more interested in finding out how the goblin compares to that. I was really curious as to peoples opinions on the build quality and how the goblin flys in comparison to the trex. As I have only ever flown Aligns I dont really know if they all fly the same or if there is a huge difference.

                          I do like the layout of the new 550 dominator. Looks a lot easier to work on.

                            i spent around 1800 on my goblin. you can get a 550 for substantially less.

                            or you can get the goblin for less than i spent too of course, but the 500 will be cheaper even with entry level components on the gob

                              Love my G500 so much I bought a second hand G570 last week and also have the G700. All fly with vbar apart from the 570 that came with a beastx 7200bx which I've yet to maiden. I also have a 600dfc which I'll be selling purely because I have no time to fly it with the others and I prefer to fly the goblins, surprisingly the trex 600 makes me nervous as I can see the Goblins easier in the air.
