The Cost Hobby?

When you think how small in figures there are flying these things then you might think how can any helli shop survive but then if like above you tot the money up from those who do fly you can see how they do survive...LOL

I started in 2009 and have kept a record of my costs just over £17K so far

No idea where Im at this year or even since I started 6 years ago.

For some reason I have a lot more models than I started this year with and unusually I have been keeping them this time around. Normally I buy and sell so that recoups some of the cost.

OMG

How do you sneak this in without the Mrs sniffing it?. My mrs is like a damn bloodhound!...A secret account?...a trusted mate to load bits of cash too now and again and go for Tesco's own brand when shopping. Bribe her with shoes or a phone or a horse as few have much else...Advice please!!!!

Simple ! my partner knows what it costs and as long as all the bills are paid and we have money to do other things too its not a problem. She reckons its good have a hobby and get out and about ! Also she loves the hobby but has only been a couple of times to events but likes seeing what I have brought etc !

I try and not think of the cost. I don't want to know how much I have spent over the last two and a half years.

My wife has a pretty good idea as too how much I spend on helicopters, she doesn't seem to mind, but who knows how womens minds work!!!, she is the woman with everything, Rolex watch, Channel perfume, bla, bla, bla, now taking her on holiday in the Maldives, drive her around in a 18month old Mercedes so she can't honestly moan about anything, I hope................but, she has thrown me out of the kitchen where I normally build/repair my helicopters, I am having a workshop built in our garden, so that has sorted that one out

My wife encourages me to spend on helicopters and ancillary equipment. She also encouraged me to convert our garage into a helicopter workshop. She can see that it does me good to have such a demanding and rewarding hobby. ( Sorry if that was going off topic a bit).

I have spent quite a lot so far and I have just bought an Align 700 e dfc .....

If SWMBO starts complaing about the cost can i suggest you threaten to take up Motor racing, and or, Game shooting, she'll never complain about the cost of RC flying again!
