  • South west heli fly in

    Hi All,

Just a quick reminder that our annual Heli Fly In is 31st August 2014.
We moved the date to a week earlier than usual to avoid a clash with the LHC weekend.

This is just a fun fly in, no competitions, just come along meet up with friends, have a coffee maybe a burger and fly.
It doesnt matter if you are a beginner or a 3D maniac, all are welcome, pod & boom, scale, electric, nitro or turbine.
This is a joint fly in held at the best flying site in the South, www.woodspringwings.co.uk/find-us

This years charity is again the Great Western Air Ambulance, last year we raised £620.00, great result for a very worthy cause.

Look forward to seeing you on the 31st, even Jamie to see whay flavour pyjamas (sorry he calls them shorts) he is wearing as this years fashion statement.....

Thanks to all who have PM'd me look forward to seeing you on the 31st.

There will be a small trade presence, will confirm later who is attending.

Parking should not be an issue this year, even though the car park area was a bit squishy underfoot for the E-Fly on Sunday, there is now plenty of firm
ground for us to park on, and not have to walk miles with the heli's.

Lots of really great raffle prizes coming, so a big thanks to all those who have and are donating,
will publish a list closer to the day.
Last year we did have loads of prizes and sorry to say it took ages to draw them out, we will change the
raffle format this year, firstly to make it quicker, secondly to give you more choice on what you win.

For those wishing to replenish volts on Sunday, WWMAC have just finished putting in a new charging station for electric planes/heli's.

You just need some plugs to pick up the power, see attached picture of the business end.

Whoever said hurricanes were bad, latest weather report is that the hurricane sweeping past us will bring in some warmer air from the tropics, so good weather from Saturday afternoon onwards.

We have made some changes to TX control as the last 35mhz set we had booked was a couple of years ago.

All 2.4ghz pilots just need to book in at TX control & produce proof of insurance, no need to book a flying slot any more,
just queue up behind any of the 4 pilots boxes and away you go.
If you do have 35mhz, no worries as we will find you flying slots.

                      See you all Sunday.

Looks like the weather gods will be smiling on us tomorrow, light winds, no rain and maybe the big orange light in the sky will show itself.

just doing a count up of the raffle prizes, some great prizes, couple of electric heli kits, some spares & quite a few shop vouchers, so a big thanks to all who donated to our raffle, will give a shout out to all when we know how much dosh we have raised for the Great Western Air Ambulance.

Some very keen pilots already turned up in camper vans this afternoon when we were down the field setting up.

Looking forward to maybe having a fly myself tomorrow, normally so busy poor heli stays in the car,
                        see you all tomorrow.
