  • Grrrrr - Soooooo annoying

    Picture the scene....

Either battery or battery checker faulty so take the trex 600 into a shop in Slough. Server by one fellar who helps me deternine that the battery checker is faulty and buy a replacement...

    Great! Well yes but....

Another bloke asks "Where did you get the trex, how much did I pay, whys it got this, whys it got that, you could have got better, not built very well (Noel Cross built it for anyone that knows him). I try to put a stop to it by saying "well, I like it" but he keeps going on and on. I wondered if I should invite him round my house so he can tell me its rubbish and I paid too much!!!!!

Maybe I should have thrown it to the floor and troddon on it

Jesus, I aint going there again.

I was rining around at the weekend looking for a deal on the TRex 500 CF. Although willing to answer questions i didnt get a confident feeling with the answers i was being given.

Called another shop in the local area and they most certainly knew what they were on about... Hobby Hanger in Yoveil. Needless to say they got my business, and i got what i wanted along with a good advice and tips etc.

I didn't even need to read the whole post to know what this is about.
That fat twat and his bum chums at Slough 'cnut' Centre can **** right off. I'd drive 100 mile round trip to buy some CA than shop in there. Bunch of arrogant tossers.

IMHO this is typical of advice from model shops.

As an example, Wayne (Cambs flyer) went to Inwood Models with his trex while I was away. The advice from them was this is crap, why don't you buy one of our shiny new models!?!

When I investigated, I found that they had set different swash AFR values int the Tx to make it harder to fly. They said the battery would be best mounted underneath the heli, this gave it a very tail heavy CofG. The reason behind this was because they had shortened the battery leads too much when soldering the deans connector. Consequently, the pos lead broke from the deans because there was hardly any solder on it.

I refitted new servo's and properly soldered the deans and resetup the transmitter. Flies as sweet as anything now. Are you surprised?

Beware, advice from model shop is rarely impartial. Please use your own common sense, or at least ask on this forum!
                      regards

                      Pip

Hey, where d'you learn to fly? I saw you shoot your rocket
                      up.............. into the sky.

Hey, I heard you set the pace, I never thought I'd see you back................ in this old place!

Pip spent about 1.5 hours round my Gaff one evening, not to mention the time he spent changing all the servos for classy Hitec ones and trimming out all the flight surfaces.

I was lucky I purchased from someone who was genuine and who has become a good friend, so if any warning I can offer is make sure you know who your buying from with second hand goods, as Pip could have been one of those merchants and said "well it was OK when I had it" but I was dead lucky he wasn't, and was only too happy to help me out.

                            Thanks bud'.
