  • 3900kv??

i have recently bought a 3900kv motor for the HBK 2 (still waiting its arrival) but a mate of mine said to get rid and get and outrunner motor?

are these better? what are the benefits of these motors?

how do you know its not an outrunner, if it hasn't arrived yet?

Outrunner provide more torque so are ideal for gearboxes, but as it is such a high Kv, it will be ideal for heli use!

3900kv is 3900kv, outrunner or inrunner so it should work fine, the argument is around the benefits of each type of motor. I think all the Neu motors are inrunners and these are good performers.

Outrunners just give more frame modding and cable routing issues IMHO

I agree 3900Kv is the same speed regardless of motor, but it would be good to see weight and max current draw, just to make sure the motor is about the right size, you don't get this from Kv alone and you don't want to weigh down the heli too much!
