  • The wonders of throttle hold!

Flew my Rex 450 yesterday and got in a bit of a state trying some piro flips, and for once managed to hit throttle hold in time! .

My nice new blades survived! (minor tip scratches) as did the tail blades , carbon boom, and canopy!

Unfortunately some of the other items didn't fare so well...

Without doubt the worst crash I've ever had.
Any body got a spare frame??

Bloody 'ell Ian - How fast was that going when it hit?
I've had and seen some really hard crashes with a 450 but never seen damage like that!

I am utterly amazed that the blades and canopy survived!!

It's funny what bits come out of a crash okay sometimes - I flew my 450 into the garage wall the other day and the the blades were wrecked and main shaft was a banana but the feathering spindle and flybar were fine
          Cheers, Lee.

I feel your pain Ian, completely trashed my 500 today, about 150-200 quids worth of damage, now completely stripped, i even managed to snap the main frames in half, all thats left is a box full of bits and a large bill at the model shop tomorrow.

Is that because there was a "green light" on in the garage

I am hoping the model shop will have most of the main bits i need so i can start on the re-build tomorrow, almost was thinking of buying a new kit but can't justify that as i have saved quite a bit and the elecs are fine, if i can get the frames and plastics i need i can order in things like a canopy etc, just hope they have a gear set for the one hitec i have stripped. Could get the mechanics back together in a day or so, but i expect i will have to wait for some bits.
