How to bind new DX6 to 3GX

Hi,

i'll come clean i've always been a Futaba fan boy

My neighbor has just got himself a second hand trex 250 with a 3GX FLB with a sat fitted...... plus a new DX6

I've put the bind plug in the 3GX and when i turn it on the sat led flashes but when i try to bind the TX all i get is bind failed

What am i doing wrong

plug the power in with the set button on the 3gx held in for a couple of seconds.

and try holding the tx a bit further away when you try to bind

Not working. The red led on the sat flashes quickly. The TX tries to bind but then says bind failed, as soon as that happens the LED stops flashing

What should the TX be set to on frame rate and stuff???

11ms dsmx if its a dsmx sat

and that is the procedure for binding to a computer tx. try it again and again, make sure the set button is held when you apply power. (3gx button not bind button on tx)

Is the orange light lit up on the dx6 to show it's working?

I couldn't bind once at the field then got home and realised my tx died.

it can be a pain, especially if your 3gx is mounted in a place which makes connecting the bind plug difficult (like my 450 and 250)

Yes orange light is 'on' on the TX

So i got the Tx in 11 ms and DSMX

Bind plug in on the 3GX

Turn on 3GX while pressing the set button

stop pressin after a few secs and bind on TX

Orange sat light stops flashing and tx says failed to bind

Aaarrrrrrggggggg whats wrong ??????????? lol

Ive aslo tried the above in DMS2 and that didnt worth either

No bloody good, funny thing is the sat led stops flashing every time it fails to bind???

yep same with mine. got there in the end, not much help beyond what i have suggested though im afraid.

you could try binding in dsm2 without pressing the set button. that would get you going at least.

You CAN'T use satellites on 3gx with DX6.
The 3 GX with satellites sets gyro to channel 7 and governor to channel 5, you therefore will not have a gyro setup.
Went through the same problems before I found out.
You will need a full size receiver.

i wouldnt have thought so, but he is right of course i didnt think of that.

i know in the dx9 you can change channel 5 to be whatever you want, you could change it to gain adjust. is this not possible on the dx6?

I have no idea... i fly Futaba....it just works lol....just trying to sort this for the guy next door....this Spectrum binding is propper frustrating lol
