  • What's the best indoor / outdoor heli??

    Hi all,
before I carry on can I apologise if this seems too early.
Due to my limited knowledge and experience in this hobby I am trying to see what is the next step for me to go.

i am trying to workout what's a decent indoor / outdoor for this size room and mainly indoor and slight outdoor flying in the garden.

hope you can see the size, it's approx 14ft x 14ft

is it the nano Cpx? It's the only model and brand I hear of the most here.

i have a Msrx which I am loving and training with at the moment in this room.

tbh I don't know if I will go outdoor only due to time, experience and commitments.

    Thanks all

NanoCPX for that room. Even an mcpx would be a bit much.

TBH, for collective pitch you really want to be either outdoors, or in a large hall (sports hall or village hall)

Have you looked at the Blade MCPX? It's a little bigger than the Nano and and having flown both outdoors found it coped better with a little wind and as it's a bit bigger was easier to fly than the Nano which can be more of a handful for the beginner.

        Thanks,
so really the only option is to go outdoor in this hobby, even with micro helicopters?

Was hoping I could stay more indoor / back garden..for the time being and get the next upgrade helicopter that will forfill my needs for the next 3-6 months. Lol

before even thinking of getting into the big bucks of outdoor flying and insurance etc...

You could fly a nano in that room, but even micro collective pitch helicopters can shift - you couldn't do anything more in that space than you could with an msrx.

So yes, really it's outdoors only. Good news is that assuming it's not blowing a gale, even the micro CP helis will fly OK outside and are fine for garden flying.

Thanks, so the best one to get would be the nano Cpx for my situation at the moment...

able to fly indoor and will be able to use outside if I want.

and that should be all I need for indoor at the max I guess.

It's difficult. Realistically I don't think you'll be able to fly anything bigger than a nano in that room. Outside, the nano will fly OK if there is only a light breeze, but an mcpxBL would fly better. But you won't be able to fly a BL in that room - not beyond just hovering.

So I guess it's where you want to fly most ... choices, choices ...

Lol yeah, I was hoping of saving money at the initial start up to the hobby. I guess that went through the roof before I started...with the dx6 issue...

I was hoping I could get a particular CP model and train up on that after the Msrx and still use it outdoor.
when I get better I can see if I want to start to think about being serious enough to spend £300+ for an outdoor model.

Just use the msrx indoors and get a BL or 130x for outdoors.
