zenoah engine stop switch

does a heli require a stop switch on a gasser or is this done the same way as a nitro by closing the throttle if a switch is neaded how is it wired when the black wire is already to earth the instructions with the motor say to switch the connection to the engine block but the black wire appears to be fixed to this already your suggestions would be appreciated even if to tell me that i am a twat for not nowing how to do this

what TX are u using??

There is a way of shutting the throttle to fully closed position... or on my HPI Baja 29.6 cc gasser u can press the kill button on the motor

Finless on helifreak did a stop engine article on the DX 7 and you may be able to apply his application to your TX as it's Speccky too

thanks for your reply mikee how is the kill switch wired on your baja gasser or is it built on to it when you bought it

It's the red button about an inch from the air filter and was pre wired by HPI as standard

To wire a kill switch on any spark ignition engine you need to switch the low side of the coil to ground, shorting out the trigger for the spark. I was going to do a sketch but after a little search I found a Zenoah manual PDF, which has the exact drawing on page 6 of 24

I'm not sure if fitting them is the norm on gas heli's but I guess the option is there.

as heliheaven said all the switch does is connect the wire to the crank case when you push the switch. I used to just close the throttle. Or you can get a little module that is controlled by a tx channel to do it however i cant remember where i saw them!

Just close the throttle and the engine will cut

Leave the Black wire alone


At least thats how it is on my Predator Gasser
