  • 4 stroke lubrication

I just realised that I am dumber than a cow's back end...
How do modern 4 Stroke Glow Plug engines lubricate the main bearings / conrod?
2 Strokes have lots of fuel swishing about in the crankcase and transfer ports to do this, but a 4 stroke doesn't...
How does oil get to the main bearings, piston skirt and conrod?
    Trev
Lots of different things that fly

And happy to have FOUR shiny EGS

Oil works itself past the piston down the bore and into the crankcase, bearings, camshaft and other parts. Small engines like this don't have oil control rings like larger 'wet sump' or 'dry sump' (with pumps) which would prevent that happening.

Also larger engines don't have oil mixed into the fuel. Hence why these small hobby engines are smoky runners.
