  • Spelling mistakes!

After scrolling through the 'For Sale' section over the last few months I have noticed that the amount of people get mixed up with the two words 'bought' and 'brought' is unbelievable.
when you buy something it is 'bought' when you bring something it is 'brought'. Sorry but I just had to post this, rant over lol.

I'm not sure if it's always intentional. I find these days my fingers do a bit of 'predictive text' subconsciously and finishing words that I didn't actually intend. So I have to proof my own writing. Although that could just be me getting old and senile. One word I see in ads sometimes is 'uprated' to describe something that has been upgraded, updated, replaced with something improved etc. It's a word I never hear spoken by anyone, only written in for sale ads.

Time for this thread again then I guess

Not the first time we've had 'brought' and 'bought' raised as an issue, along with 'accept' and 'except' and doubtless many others.

Its like the word "to and too" , Im going too town and im going to do something. Another one would be inquire and enquire, I could go on and on if you like . Recently I bought a helicopter and then brought it too the field, while I was there I crashed the helicopter and people inquired why I had crashed, later that day an enquiry was raised into why this had happened ! lol !

Im now bored of this and not bored like a hole or a whole or board like a plank

la la la la lol !

The funny thing is, 99 times out of 100, the posts correcting the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors are usually full of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.

I don't think it's a great idea to criticise people about spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, because you may well be insulting someone who has a learning difficulty or some other problem... so I won't point out all the errors in the OP
