If you can, check that you're getting a correct DNS response. For this, you need to use a command prompt (or Terminal under MacOS). You need to type the command "nslookup www.rcheliaddict.co.uk". You should get a response similar too ...

    Macbook:~ tom$ nslookup www.rcheliaddict.co.uk
    Server: 66.93.87.2
    Address: 66.93.87.2#53

    Non-authoritative answer:
    www.rcheliaddict.co.uk canonical name = rcheliaddict.co.uk.
    Name: rcheliaddict.co.uk
    Address: 77.72.7.234

    Macbook:~ tom$

If the nslookup response is OK, try a tracert as well.

At the command prompt type 'tracert rcheliaddict.co.uk'

You should get something like this:

      Tracing route to rcheliaddict.co.uk [77.72.7.234]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

      1 1 ms 2 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.254
      2 * * * Request timed out.
      3 43 ms 28 ms 29 ms te2-0-0.ar8.hobir.isp.sky.com [89.200.135.174]
      4 24 ms 25 ms 23 ms xe-4-1-1-core0.thnor.uk.as6908.net [195.66.225.3
      2]
      5 27 ms 23 ms 25 ms te4-2-cr0.thn.uk.as6908.net [62.149.52.6]
      6 31 ms 30 ms 29 ms 213.133.130.6
      7 28 ms 28 ms 28 ms 77.72.0.6
      8 29 ms 29 ms 28 ms server.rcheliaddict.co.uk [77.72.7.234]

      Trace complete.

The details will be different, but you should reach the last step without taking too long.

If both the nslookup and the tracert are OK then it would suggest that your internet connection is fine.

As a quick test you can go to your network settings and change your DNS server address to 8.8.8.8 which is the Google DNS server, this will rule out the Virgin DNS server issues.

Perhaps the only good thing about Virgin (apart from TiVo and their FO broadband is the help they give. Call them and make them earn their keep.
Helicopter pilots get it up quicker.

When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.

Why simplify when it is so much simpler to complicate.

As long as you can get the porn sites like fast lad and align Trex (other porn sites are available), I can't see what the problem is Keith hahahaha!

                T'internet help please

                Hi

If you are able to access the site from work as well as via 3G, either you, your ISP or RCHA website is blocking your IP address, but it's invariably the website hosting company or site that's doing the blocking as the ISP isn't really bothered unless they are hosting pirated films or software.

Can you take a screenshot to show the error and post it here, as well as the results from the tracert and/or ping tests the other guys have suggested. If you are able to ping the IP address (77.72.7.234) but not connect, it's a website block and Stu needs to check your account in the vbulletin control panel. If you are unable to ping it (connection times out or destination unreachable), then the website firewall is blocking you and Stu again needs to investigate.

This is where I have the problem, I can take a screen shot, but then can't get on the forum to post it !

If you are running windows on your laptop, open a command prompt and enter
                      nslookup www.rcheliaddict.co.uk
You should get a resopnse similar to what's shown below. I have used asterisk to remove my network information. The important piece in the output is you get an IP address in the answer. In my case it is resolved to 77.72.7.234. If the name does not get resolved you have a DNS issue.

                      C:\
                      nslookup www.rcheliaddict.co.uk
                      Server: **********
                      Address: *********

I don't claim to be an expert, but I sure would like to become one someday.

Are you using your daughters laptop at home i.e. so both machines are going through the same router ?

No IP from my end is being banned but that's not to say the hosting providers firewall isn't so I've asked them to check there systems too.

Do you have a smart phone with web browsing facility that can use your wifi to see if you can work the site your phone ?
                        Cheers
