hi can anyone tell me why the training kit that I have keeps coming apart. I now I must be doing something wrong but not sure what . the heli I have is quiet heavy(hirobo shuttle plus) should I be sitting the heli on top of the trainer or should the poles go over the skids but under the heli body and the main part of the trainer touching theunder side of the heli. sorry this sounds like like a stupid thing to be asking

I never used training skids/legs because they seem to make the Heli more unstable with the downdraft from the blades, I know a few people who have also said this, try to hover without them if you can, or if not I have seen them tie-wrapped to the skids and that seems to work.Phil

thanks guys I was thinking of gluing them to the main joining after one of the poles came out and my heli started falling to the side thankfully the blades weren't spinning that fast and I got to it before they hit the ground . if its a nice day tomorrow I think ill give it another try see if I can stop bouncing about and keep it straight and in the one direction . Never now might even get an inch of the ground fingers crossed . I don't think I have the confidence to try without the trainer.

Hello, I have recently removed the trainer legs from my 450x as I now feel much more confident in flying without them. I am very thank full that the hobby shop suggested I use them, I am pretty sure I would have destroyed my heli without them. The spring clips were of no use, make sure you push the rods well home into the hub and firmly tape the legs to the undercarriage. My heli used to tail wag during initial few inches of lift while using the legs but was ok when a foot high, the main help was in landing.Paul

I am a great fan of training gear, leave it on as long as you can until you are confident in steady accurate take off and landings.
Flying around with them is no problem and really doesn't affect performance that much.
Too many rush to get them off early but they save many helis. They do influence stability and lift a bit but that is nothing compared to the expense of a crash without them.
Glue the legs into the center boss if they keep coming out.
Rest the heli skids onto the training gear and secure with strong elastic bands, the type used for holding plane wings on, about 100-150mm long and 10mm or so wide.
Get them from your local hobby shop.
Cable ties are OK as well but you may need to cut them off each time to be able to get the heli in the car with the gear on.
Have you had someone set the heli up with a nice gentle pitch curve and throttle curve, helps learning no end.
Find a club and get help and advice if you are not already a member somewhere.
You will progress much quicker with a nice setup up and some guidance.
