  • Need help with building a hexacopter/drone

    Hi there,
I've got a few questions about a drone/hexacopter that I am planning to build.
    1. For a hexacopter what would be the max lift weight?
    2. what would be good motors for the propellers (4.7 inch) that aren't too expensive?
    3. If I put a body around the hexacopter (a bit like the drone from the movie oblivion) would this be possible? if get it balanced and keep the weight under the max lift.
    4. What's the law against flying hexacoters in a public area?
    Thanks in advance
    Any help appreciated!

    Welcome to the forum.

An introduction is the usual first post for new members explaining what you have flown or if you are a total newbie to our hobby and a little about your interests, ie scale, 3d, sport or aerial photography etc.

if your a newbie I'd suggest that perhaps you should look at a compete kit of parts with step by step build instructions. Something like one of the DJI flamewheel combs for instance. To buy all the parts required for a build and have the technical know how to put them together and then program the machine requires quite a bit of understanding how and why it works. At least a kit will give you a basic insight into this.
