  • Mac Users !!!!

    Ok chaps

not wanting to raise old ghosts about the mac pc thing but a quick question, All macs these days can run windows quite happily with no emulators ,along with mac os 10 they come with graphic cards and all manner of various software, On all machines you can run both windows and mac os 10 choosing either operating system when you boot it up

Surely if it can run windows and windows programs it will have no troubles running phoenix flight sim?

    anybody done this?

reason i ask is im after a mac book pro but will only go for it if it will run phoenix ,if i first put windows on it!

I would doubt the on board graphics card is up to it but I'm not sure. I know it is possible on the desktop versions though

      Time for the Answers......

Mac Book Pro WILL run Phoenix without ANY Problems using Windows.

Mac Book or Mac Mini or Mac book air are the ONLY 3 that might struggle due to their built in GFX cards.

Mac's have PC GFX cards fitted Although you generally cannot remove them or upgrade them like most PC boxs although as many PC's now come as compact units there's not a lot in it now.

Mac Pro is the Only Mac where you CAN fit a PC GFX card for Windows use if you want to. Although Apple do GFX Card upgrades for the Mac Pro (I have a Mac Pro sat here)

The ONLY thing that WINDS me up is everything esle I USE is in OSX.... Only the dam sim is windows if anyone brought out a Decent Native mac sim i'd buy it. I wouldn't care if it was Reflex or G3.5 etc..

Just so I don't have to reboot all the dam time.

Mac book Pro can handle it easily: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 256MB SDRAM

Mac book might splutter a bit though

Apple's refurb store for cheaper Macs:

          http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObje...nclm=Certified

These are either returned to Apple or older models that didn't sell and there shifting end of line.

If you must have a laptop then the mac pro is the machine to have

But if you can have a desktop machine just take a look at the 24" iMac....

Thats a beast and you'd never regret buying one!

any questions about the Mac or software feel free to PM me
