Cheers Rob, me and Jim are going down Friday night, so as long as he don't sleep (like he does in cars) we may be in with a chance lol

I found my experience at the grass roots quite humbling...although I often fly a bit of a display in front of my mates it was a completely different thing trying to impress judges. My flying really went to pieces.
I'd always regarded "judged sports" as a bit naff, but after trying it I have a new respect for anyone who is trying to produce a sporting performance in front of judges be it with a model heli, ice skating or anything!

So be prepared to have fun, but be humbled. Be ready for a ten year old to show you up - then make use of the free flying period after the competition to remind yourself you can actually fly a heli reasonably! I felt much better when my free flying after the competition drew a round of applause from onlookers - my competition flights certainly weren't worth that!
