  • Which Dremel?

Thinking about using my Amazon voucher from my birthday to get or put towards a dremel kit. There have been so many instances while building this plank that it would have been very handy.

I'm guessing it's a tool that many on here have and probably use often, so I'm asking which one would you recommend? Not something I'd use every day so no point spending a fortune.

    Something like this?

Absolute necessity especially when dealing with cheesium screws that have rounded off !!
That one is very good - I've got the corded version that's going on for nearly 5 yrs now and is indispensable in my workshop/garage.

I've got the corded and cordless ones and if I could only do one, it would be the corded one every time, it has more torque and my cordless one's speed control has ceased to function, it still works but only flat out.....
Dunno how you've survived without one mate

That looks like a cordless 4000, I have the 4000 & I would be lost without it. I've used it for so many things but never for heli's lol. Best power tool I own by far.

To be honest, corded vs non corded never even crossed my mind, but from what you guys have said, it sounds like corded is the way to go

            I'll keep searching

I just bought the corded entry level 3000. Works a treat, pretty much everything I found said avoid the cordless unless you only want it for light jobs

I have the 4000, corded. I don't need to use it very often but when I do it is invaluable.

I have original corded dremel multitool, grey carry case, red speed adjuster, collet chuck etc. Bought it in Index in 1999, and it has been an absolute godsend. Cant believe how one can get through life without a dremel.

Hi guys. Bit of a hijack here so tell me to sling me hook if ya like lol.

could somebody just measure the diameter of the collet where it sits in the dremel tool for me, are they 5mm??
i need some new collets for mine, it's a cheapo dremel copy, but the drill itself works fine so I'd rather just buy new collets but if not will I've been eyeing up a new one anyway.

Why pay loadsa money for a brand name? There's lots of small collet drills about. I bought one (can't remember what name) about 8-10yrs ago.. corded jobbie cost me about £8 back then ..still going strong.. came in a nice ally case with a heap of attahments included and has never flinched at being abused.
