What is the smallest electric Heli that runs standard size servos?

I was just wondering...?

The reason being that we have recently added a Logo 600SE to the Hangar, but it is a bit too close to the Logo 500SE that we already had...!

So, I am considering swapping the 500 for something 'less similar' and didn't want to have to buy all new mini or micro servos.

Any suggestions on which Heli would be good to change the 500se for would be appreciated

Any help out there guys? We really would like to know, just means we have something we can fly in places other than just the club, and when we need our 10s pairs for the plank! (Sorry but sometimes a change is nice!)

You could convert your 500SE to a 550SX and spin 550mm blades instead of 600mm.

We are running a set of 550mm blades on the 500se but I think we wanted something overall a bit smaller. Just hoping to be able to change the FBL controller and servos over, the logo 400 can run standard servos but we were after something a bit different

Gaui X5 is 500-520 blades and takes full size servos.

The Goblin 500 needs the special full size canopy to use full size, which also includes mounts for said servos.

I'm not sure but I think the compass Atom 500 can run full size servos as well as mini. But that's a fairly old design now. So is the X5, but Gaui have made many improvements over the years.

You will just end up going the opposite way. There aren't really any helis below 500mm blades running full size servos, you will end up with something closer to the size of the 500SE.

So for anything smaller we would be looking at having to change the servos!

Gaui x4 does look nice, what about anything that will run a 2500mah 6s? As a different criteria!

Don't buy a heli based on servos (I can't why anyone would do that?) find something that you actually want. I get the impression you are both not sure what you want. What is it you are looking for in your next heli?

Something smaller than the 500se, and probably not a logo, we aren't sure if we definitely want another heli, but there is no point in having a pair of large (ish) helis if we like one more!

I think the question is there anything that will give us something different to the 600se that is a smaller heli, I like to try and fly smoother 3d and dad (dwazzer) is learning!

The 500se is REALLY good, but it is a bit similar to the 600se which is REALLY REALLY good..!!!

I know it runs 6s as opposed to 10s and we have now put a set of 550mm blades on it (following advice from a previous thread ) I was just looking for something a bit different to the 600se which is definitely a keeper! (for now anyway!)

I suppose we are after something that will excite Mathew (the boy!) but will also let me do my extreme hovering and circuits with.....and maybe smaller than the 600se with its 1.4m disc

How about a T rex 500? Small enough to chuck about but more presence and visibility than a 450.

There is a thread on there somewhere of somebody building a Trex 500 and enlarging the servo holes to run full size.

I prefer to call it a proven design. Show me another heli that swings 425mm blades and has a lower parts count.

It can only use a full sized servo for the tail. Cyclic servos are mini size.
