  • E700 v2 head parts

    Hello,

Does anyone know when part PV6048 will be available? It's only listed on one uk website but is out of stock.

The E700 kit I got has a V2 head and I've broken the ball in the post and looks like I can't get a new one!

    Regards,
    Dave

Hi Dave, yes that's the part. I got the part from the manual, and also Nick Maxwells facebook. Like you say it doesn't appear to have made its way out at all into the distribution network so looks still far off. PV1639 is the V1 part, I actually bought this without thinking then noticed it was shorter. Did you try to include a link on last post?

I did Dave blonde moment but it's just a link to the V1 part. Shame companies don't get their act together with manuals ETC wehn they release V2 parts. Odd that even in the States they're not showng the part in stock anywhere.

Daft suggestion is there anyway we could make the new part, IE by adding some washers or a bush of the right dimensions. I'm sure I can knock one up for you if needs be mate

The only problem I have with the original part is the ball head broke off leaving the shaft inside, if I could get the shaft out I would be fine. I'm just wondering if I could fly it with the V1 posts, I'm sure the geometry will be off but would let me fly it, I've not flown it at all yet.

Alternatively I could perhaps take up the gap with a couple of washers and use a longer bolt. There is only 2.8mm of difference between the posts.

Not sure what the -ve delta caused and I for one would probably not know the difference. Not sure whether it gives the FBL unit a hard time

could you use a different stand off ball on the v1 post to bring it back to the correct position

I did not even realise they had issued V2 parts? What was wrong with the original component?

I think there were some improvements from Nick, not sure what the effects have been though.

From Nicks FB page, look at me using FB, whatever next

Hey everyone with E700s, just a quick reminder on the new head parts for the E700. All three V2 parts must be changed together to work properly and to get the right head ratios/travels. While the head RATIOs did not change-> your pitch and cyclic values will remain the same for a given swashplate deflection, we changed the distances (equally to eachother-which is what kept the ratios the same) of the mixer arm and grip lever simply to allow for an ever so slightly more linear control response from 0- +/-15(+) degrees and for more mechanical leverage on the grip control so the grip links and mixer bearings will last even longer beating on them day in and day out. The grip plates also have increased in width a bit so they can withstand tip over autos better, etc. The new grip post zeros out the delta which for those running soft dampening and extremely low headspeeds will get a better control feel at those RPMs.

Those who fly tight dampening you will not see a change with the new grip post as without any teetering effect, delta in the head has no effective response or blade/control input...

Just again, these three main parts, the control lever, grip lever, and grip post all should be changed together. If not, the head ratios will change and your cyclic and pitch values will be very strange.

This is not a critical thing to change at all, just more or less a running upgrade that when the next time that you have to replace any of these parts you can upgrade to them. The old version functionally flies just as well, but for long term these new parts should last even longer for less maintence and tolerate minor
