Under £70? New 3GX, 2nd hand 3GX or on a good day a Beastx. The 3GX is more time consuming to set up to get good results. Beastx if you can get one at that price...

Yep no doubt the beastx is fantastic for the price, I've even seen the Spektrum AR7200BX on here for around £85, but if your really on a budget try the TGZ380 from hobbyking £25, it's a beasts clone. I have tried one on a 500 size Heli, And to be honest I can't tell the difference.

Total g and tt gt5 are both good units but are a little difficult to get set right.

I can give you a hand with the Total-G if you find anything about it unclear. I have 3 of them in helis at the moment and I'm about to swap out the BeastX in my 500 for another Total-G. There are some quirks about it that you have to be mindful of, one of which is that it has two flight modes, 'trim lock' and 'decay'. Trim lock mode is like heading hold. You just have to be careful about being in trim lock mode on the ground as it can under certain conditions try to tip over but you can avoid that by having it only go into trim lock mode above a certain throttle %.

The other thing you need to know is that some units do not have the UK standard low throttle failsafe. This is only pertaining to when you use it as the RX with sats. If you use it with a dedicated RX then the RX will have the failsafe setting. If you want to use it with only sats you need to make sure it is the FSTL version. If not you can have this done by CY but it requires sending it to them in the USA. I have both kinds and run two with Spektrum sats and one with an AR7000.

I think the Total-G's rep for being difficult was due to it coming out years ago before most of us were used to how FBL systems work. I don't think it's any more difficult than most others it just has it's own logic behind it but it is very capable.
