  • What paint?

Hi all. I have a Parkzone Stryker c brushless delta wing and want to paint a new fuselarge but am unsure what paint to use. It is made off a kind of polystyrene, can i use spray paint which is for polycarbonate or is there a special paint for such an aplication.
Also, has anybody ever used or heard of a tape used for strengthening weak areas on model aircraft. I have seen it on some models on the net, it is like a mesh embeded 2" wide transparent tape.
    Thanks Ian.

Tape sounds like normal clear, mesh reinforced duck tape. http://ukofficedirect.opnet.co.uk/De...dbf9b1a8c74ef2

Probably get it from most stationary shops.

    Pheonix -
The less expensive way to crash.

Yip defo the reinforced duct tape, i have it on my hydrofoam. Very handy stuff. I used to use it on my multiplex twinjet also. Handy for putting under the fuselage for belly landings... saves the marks on ya model.

If your model is made of polystyrene keep away for cellulose paints (ie ordinary spray paints) as the solvent will melt the polystyrene! Enamel would be ok, but is HEAVY.

You could always test a very small inconspicuous area first if in doubt as to what to use, as some of these new models have a plastic fuselage which is paintable with cellulose.
