  • Why can't I find a decent plastic threadlock in the Uk?

Hope someone can help. I was looking for Permatex 19920 Plastic Threadlocker, 10 ml or similar loctite product. I've tried using CA but it just either makes the plastic brittle and crack in time or locks so tight I can never undo it and the screw head comes off and best.

What do you use to thread lock metal screw to plastic? I know the threadlock blue eats plastic. There must be something out there in the uk...

Errrrr normally you don't use threadlock with screws going into plastic? Its metal on metal contact that needs threadlocking.

For example, the 130X frame boom support screws start slipping after time. I tried CA which works too good as if you need to swop the boom over you cant undo the screws again also the xtreme 130X frame has plastic skid supports again in time the screws just spin and don't lock so need something that will lock them in but let me undo them if the skids break or I need to service...

Amazon.com: Permatex 19920 Plastic Threadlocker, 10 ml: Automotive his looks perfect but not available on amazon.co.uk and need a big order from the US

I guess the trick is using such a al amount of CA it olds but the can be undone. Working out that amount is tricky! So far I always use too much!

I use CA myself (Zap Med), but there is a Tamiya thread lock avialable from most models shops.

But I can't see many places selling it online.

I can find it online here... 87004 Tamiya threadlock - JTmodels

But I can't find any info on it anywhere that says it's safe for plastics... For example the hitec HS5035HD plastic servo cases that are secured with a metal screw. The blue lock thread eats the case.

Can't you just use a hot glue gun on the head of the screw ? Like we use to secure servo plugs into fbl, and it peels off again too

Its definitely plastic safe, I used to use it on RC cars.
That's its main feature & its good stuff actually.
